Tamara Zwinak Successfully Establishes a Green Base in Western North Carolina

Election results are in for the US House of Representatives District 11.  This is a victory for the Green movement in WNC.  We now have a solid base of 5,417 voters across 17 counties in the region.  Our goal for 2022 is to enlarge this base. We want to build a big tent that includes non-socialist.  The bottom line is to attract voters who agree on the UN Sustainability Goals.

I am very pleased with the results.  My goal was to run a no money, low impact campaign.  Greens have shown that we don't need big money to run.  We produced no campaign waste.  This is a first, probably in the nation, in terms of meeting these goals.  Also, given the fact I received no endorsements, together this campaign demonstrated that these votes came from voters who support the Green movement.  This is exciting in a region that is solidly Republican.  I believe if we build a coalition with Democrats, we could win a seat in Congress before 2030.

Over the next few days, I will provide a more detailed analysis of election results to help us target where we want to go from here.

A majority of the vote came from voters who are not registered Green.  This demonstrates that the Green movement has a great deal of support across the board.
